Get Sketchy #80

I have a couple cards to share this morning.  And more to come later, just short on time this morning.  First card is for this week’s Get Sketchy challenge.   I finally had a card to use up some of vintage maps on.  And of course there’s more cardboard.  I am obsessed with it.

For my second card, I used some sticky back canvas inked up with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and some Chamomile Ink from PTI tea dye duo.  And a cute 3d butterfly.  I totally stole that idea from some embellishments I saw at RAH.  I think they were My Little Yellow Bicycle.  Oh and I am obsessed with tickets now too.

Sketchessss 4 Life

Sooo I have been obsessed with using sketches.  For all these cards I used “old” sketches from Clean and Simple Stamping.  I am totally hooked on this site.  Sorry I didn’t write down the sketch numbers.  And I am wayyy too lazy to go back and try to figure it out.

My first card is my favorite.  I used some vintage book paper and stamped right on the paper in black ink.  Then, to make the black really stand out on the text background, I used my stamp a ma jig to stamp directly over the image in Versamark.  Then I dumped on clear embossing powder and heated it up.  I’m loving it.  In real life it’s nice and textury and glossy.  I might make a set of these with different sayings because that typewriter really makes me happy.

This card I thought would be a cute little boy card.  I used my new white gel pen to add some fake stitching.  Kinda wish I used white embossing powder on the sentiment now, but what is done is done.  I think I just made up a cliche.

And this last one is pretty simple.  I messy stitched across the circles and plopped on some Dienamics mini rolled roses.  I really dislike rolling these little guys.  But they are so cute I do it anyways.  I also fake stitched around the edges, which I am regretting because I think I should have used my machine.  In fact I think I might go redo this card a bit.  I think I’d like to place it on a different color card base.  Should I even bother?

Craft Fairrr stuff

Less than a month until my craft fair at the Knights of Columbus in Pembroke!  AHHHHH! Pressure is on.   I have a good stash of cards, about 40 so far, but need lots more!! I am trying to make simpler cards.  But even those cards take me forever sometimes.

I just loved the twine flower on this card, so I had to make more.  I think I could make these all day, they are so adorable.  I followed along with this week’s sketch at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.  I am looooving all these sketches.   I used a small strip of Fancy Pants paper on this card, and the cloud is a matching die cut.  I didn’t stitch my buttons….I guess I wanted them to be a bit more simple, but now I think I’m regretting it.

I made this baby girl card.  I need a few baby cards I suppose.  I paper pieced the pram, which was a$1 rubber stamp at Michael’s.  And I used a SU stamp to make the Sugar and Spice panel. My stamp a ma jig came in handy for that.  And if that wasn’t tedious enough, I decided to hand stitch the circle.

Now this card was pretty simple.  I used the dreamy paper from Jillibean’s soup Dutch Mustard Soup and a matching journaling sprout.  I wanted a wedding card, but have no wedding sentiments.  So I created my own.  I used a happy father’s day stamp from PTI, and taped the father’s day with masking tape, inked up the happy, then took off the masking tape right before stamping onto my card.  I think it’s darling. And this was a layout from Clean & Simple Stamping.

And last a blank card. I love those big buttons and big polka dots.  I’d love to make more of these, but I don’t have lots of big buttons.

And I just realized that I used my scallop punch on all these cards.  I didn’t even know I liked scallops so much.

Get Sketchy #79

Oh man I have been a crafting machineeee these past couple days.  I’ve been wanting to make a card with grass and Easter eggs for a while.  But, I had no grass and was too lazy to cut some up myself.  So I was “convinced” to buy the dienamics grass die last night after our scrapbook class at Right at Home.  Then this morning, I came across the Get Sketchy sketch, and went to it.  I used my new Sassafrass Sweetly Smitten paper pad for the whole card.  Love that paper.  It sure is grandmotherific.

And I didn’t stop with the Easter egg card.  I made this quick card.  I basically copied a card I saw this morning when I was on the net, but I have no idea now what blog I was on.  Bummer.  I did leaver her a comment to tell her I loved her card so much I was going to have to copy it.  I might copy it again, I like it.

Mojo Monday 182

I looove this week’s Mojo Monday sketch!  I used my new Jillibean Soup paper and a journaling sprout to make this guy. This heart paper was a favorite, and I totally was a chicken about cutting it.  Ahhh I hate that.  It’s so ridiculous, but I hate cutting a new sheet of paper. I used some vintage lace for my crooked ribbon.  And my new MFT Dienamics rolled rose mini die to create the flower.  The flower is so little the whole process was a bit of a challenge for me.  There were lots of swears.  But, alas,  I used a skewer I had on my table and wrapped the rose around that as I went, and there was much less drama after that.  Oh and want to know a secret.  There are actually 3 orange rhinestones stacked up inside that rose.  I wasn’t happy with the height of the first one, or the second, so I added a third on top.  I know it’s a bit of a waste, but I like it better this way.

Oh strawberries…and money trees

I just loveee this strawberry Itty Bitty Unity Stamp.  I actually love all the Unity stamps.  If money grew on trees I would own them all. I would own all the Copics if money grew on trees too.  I had to paper piece this little guy because I was planning to color him in, but I don’t have any green Copics yet.  And then I wanted bright white seeds on the strawberry, so I used some Jenni Bowlin acrylic paint and  painted em in.  Tedious, but I think they’re cute.  And I can’t stop using cardboard.  I think this is the fourth project in a row using it. I think it’s just darling, I love the texture, color.  Since this is a strawberry card, I should share a life story.  Last week  I had a ridiculous allergic reaction after I ate some strawberry yogurt.  I went to the doctor and had to get a steroid injection and then I had to take lots of pills to make my ridiculous rash go away.  And the rash was only on my face, of course.  It was just awesome.  But my reaction was pretty minor in the allergy world so my doctor told me to keep eating strawberries, in moderation.  I won’t die, which is fantastic because summer is coming and I love those juicy little berries.

Mojo Monday 181

I decided to do this week’s Mojo Monday sketch last minute.  I used more cardboard from my PTI box, and was surprised I was able to cut it with my Nestabilities.  I also made that stick pin after digging through my bead box.  And I couldn’t resist using my new Hazel paper pad from My Mind’s Eye paper.  Okay I gotta post this, time is running out!
