Twisted Sketches 65

Yay for my second week on the design team over at Twisted Sketches! The twist this week was fabric.

So I dug through my huge disorganized pile of fabric and die cut this flower.

I flipped the sketch on it’s side and just left my little creation rather simple.

Embellish Magazine Challenge

So I stumbled upon the lovely Embellish Magazine Website the other day and thought I’d join in all the craftiness.  I love the colors in this week’s challenge, orange, aqua, green and kraft.  I want to decorate my whole house in those colors.

I created my own background with a hero arts stamp. I stamped the sentiment in aqua and green, but it’s a bit hard to tell.

And the pretty flower is from Crate Paper.  Oh and I use some pretty Liquid Pearls to highlight the sentiment and the middle of the flower.  I love how dainty they look.

All sorts of excitementttt…

Some verrry exciting news this Saturday morning to share with blog world.   Today is my 1 year wedding anniversary.  It’s been a spectacular year.  I have the best husband ever! He supports all my crafting craziness.  But since we just got pre-approved last week for our mortgage, I think he’d be thrilled if I cut back on my crafty spending.  But anyways, back to love.  We were lucky enough to have some amazing wedding photographers and to have our wedding featured in a magazine! Check us out over at Seacoast Bride, click here. And here’s a photo of our lovely wedding! Oh how I want to go back!

And for more excitement, yesterday,  I mailed off my first card to be submitted in a magazine! Yes! It’s true.  One of my cards will be in the November issue of Cards Magazine! I couldn’t be more excited and honored.  Some of my crafting idols grace those pages! I submitted a couple cards a few weeks ago to Papercrafts and was rejected.  But it made me realize how much I really wanted to be published.  So I gave it another shot with a Cards submission, and luck was with me.

And as if that all isn’t exciting enough, for the next six months I will be part of the Twisted Sketches Design Team!  One of my cards will be featured every other Saturday.  And today is my first day, so be sure to check it out, along with all the other new team member’s cards! Here is the first sketch.

The “twist” this week is metal.

I used some “antique” brads for my metal.

And the paper, the Celebrate die cut, and twine are all Pink Paislee.  I think the colors are just lovely.

Less is More 17

I have been a terrible blogger.  (ha, can you even be a blogger if you don’t blog!) I have so many unblogged cards laying on my desk.  I blame all the rain we had a few weeks ago because it was hard to take pics.  (But for real, it’s because I was lazy.) It’s so sad because I made lots of cards for challenges that just didn’t get posted.  Sigh.  So…. I was determined to post my card today asap. I stumbled upon “Less is More” , a clean and simple challenge blog, during some internetting.  I love what they do, and played along this week.

I love these Crate Paper cut outs. I dressed her in a pearl necklace and glued a little heart next to his silhouette.  It might be a bit awkward actually, but it’s stuck, and there’s no going back now.

And since I am running low on envelopes for 5×5 cards, and since I don’t where to get them on the cheap, I created my own.

I just cut out 12×6 piece of paper I picked up about a year ago at The Paper Source, and I stitched the sides.  Then I scored it to fit the card.  And used a nestability to cut out a circle to grab the card.

The whole thing took no longer than 20 minutes.  I love instant gratification!
